    Syria Crisis: Social cohesion in neighboring countries is now at risk

    The UNDP-ODI report —titled, “Towards a Resilience-based Response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis” conducts a critical review of vulnerability criteria and frameworks used by humanitarian partners to address the Syria crisis. The report recognizes that the combination of refugee flows and decreased economic activity with Syria has altered the economic performance and fiscal health of countries in the region, affecting public finance, trade deficits and key economic sectors.

    “Live Lebanon” in cooperation with BBAC rehabilitates Beni Sakher public school

    UNDP’s Live Lebanon Initiative in partnership with BBAC launched a project aimed at equipping Beni Sakher Public School in Wadi Khaled, North Lebanon with the support of Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Bouran Boueiry.     UNDP responds to internal displaced people from Mosul

    A total of 31,680 families displaced by last week's violence in the cities of Mosul and Tal Afar are seeking shelter in safer areas in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. This new crisis follows massive displacement this year in the western Iraqi governorate of Anbar, where fighting since January has forced some half-a-million people to flee the province.
