    Hajjah WASH activities receive Dutch contribution for scale-up

    Sana'a, a cost sharing agreement was signed between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and UNDP represented by Mr. Jeroen Verheul, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands, and Mr. Paolo Lembo, UNDP Resident Representative for an amount of 500,000 euros dedicated to Water and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH).

    “Live Lebanon” in cooperation with BBAC rehabilitates Beni Sakher public school

    UNDP’s Live Lebanon Initiative in partnership with BBAC launched a project aimed at equipping Beni Sakher Public School in Wadi Khaled, North Lebanon with the support of Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Bouran Boueiry. The ceremony was held at the school attended by representatives from the UNDP and BBAC along with a number of professors.

    The launch of irrigation canals in Beshwet with the support of a new development project for “Live Lebanon” and BBAC

    The municipality of Beshwet inaugurated a project to construct irrigation canals with the support of Goodwill Ambassador Mr. Fadi Salameh and the UNDP’s “Live Lebanon" initiative in partnership with Bank of Beirut and the Arab Countries (BBAC) and in collaboration with the Association of Cooperatives in Deir El-Ahmar, in a ceremony held in Saydet Beshwet Church in the presence of heads of municipalities and mayors in addition to political, religious and social figures.

    UNDP responds to internal displaced people from Mosul

    A total of 31,680 families displaced by last week's violence in the cities of Mosul and Tal Afar are seeking shelter in safer areas in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. This new crisis follows massive displacement this year in the western Iraqi governorate of Anbar, where fighting since January has forced some half-a-million people to flee the province.

    National symposium on security sector reform in Iraq focuses on sustainable security solution

    Baghdad – The National Symposium on Security Sector Reform and Governance in Iraq was opened today at Al Nahrain Centre for Strategic Studies in Baghdad in the presence of senior Iraqi Government and United Nations officials. The Symposium will focus on presenting the lessons learned by the United Nations in supporting Security Sector Reform, and on discussing how future national security dialogue in Iraq could benefit from international experience. The event was organized by UNDP in partnership with the National Security Agency of Iraq.

    Model Police Stations Launched in Tunisia

    Fletcher & Renda head to south Lebanon to follow-up on UK funded projects to host communities

    British Ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher visited south Lebanon where he saw first-hand the UK-funded municipalities Host Communities Programme, implemented by UNDP. The programme will support municipalities to increase delivery of livelihood services in areas of Lebanon most affected by the Syrian refugee influx.
